Gift Cards for the homeless.
The Middleman Humanitarian Charitable Foundation is a registered non-profit serving the Carolinas, helping those most in need.
The Middleman Humanitarian Charitable Foundation is a private, non-profit organization established 4 years ago. The charity's founder was inspired to help particularly the homeless in Charlotte, North Carolina, due to his own experience with homelessness, addiction, imprisonment, and poverty.
Many of the homeless are also mentally ill, which severely effects their ability to find stability in their lives. Charlotte does have local organizations, to help with food, clothing, and shelter. However, certain needs are not met by any agency within the community. For example, homeless mother's may need diapers for infants, or personal care items to maintain good hygiene in order to gain employment. Also, homeless men in the community have need for personal care items that are not available through local organizations.
The name Middleman evolved from a strategy to bridge the gap between donors and its recipients; to put help directly into the hands of the needy. At this time we have no major operating costs, and our volunteers personally cover all minimal expenses; so all donations can 100% be directed to the needy.
We are asking for 500.00 to purchase 20 gift cards worth 25.00, to distribute to the local homeless, for the purchase of personal care items. 100% of this campaign will be directly put into the hands of the needy. We walk the streets of Uptown Charlotte, engaging the homeless population with conversation and concern, and intend to bless them with gift cards. We are offering a free t-shirt with the Middleman logo, for the first 20 people who donate 100.00. The t-shirt will be delivered after the successful close of the campaign.
If we do not reach our fundraising goal, we intend to give any remaining funds to Fr. Mark Lawlor of St. Vincent de Paul catholic church; to distribute to the needy at his discretion.
Please spread the word of our campaign. We look forward to providing testimonies by the recipients of our endowment. We are giving to the people, from the people. From our hands to their hands, we are the Middleman. God bless.
