A newly befriended acquaintance sent me this interesting yet thought provoking link. http://mission.liguori.org/newsletters/scrupulosity.htm It helps to have such insights and guidelines at times when we are examining our own consciences. Remember brothers and sisters we should regularly and often search the recesses of our beings for evidence of an exasperating fallen nature that necessitates frequent use of the sacrament of penance. The Holy Spirit will gently but revealingly guide us delicately but specifically in our own personal examination of self. Keep in mind that only the accuser of the brethren, satan, accuses persons whether it be directly upon the imaginations, and he does this violently at times, or via other persons who act as agents of the adversary and take it upon themselves to accuse others of sin. The effects of unchecked and unconfessed pride obsess and preoccupy our minds, focusing primarily on the sins of others even out of a self-serving, feigned concern that is merely the illusion of charity but false no less. Humility dictates that our personal sin alone is tantamount enough, a major dunghill of disfigurement that needs deconstruction and severe eradication, and therefore we do not have the time to look at others sins but only our own, with any degree of prolonged examination.
Actions speak so loudly that the amplification of such drowns out even the verbosity of inspired and holy yet merely human conversation. Lead by example. If you want to help another human being afflicted by or enslaved in their sin, pray with out ceasing and seek God's ocean of Divine Mercy. Peace out!
